Originally from Jacksonville, FL, Angel L. Henderson has been forging her way around the Atlanta theatre and film landscape for the past six years. She has held both lead and supporting roles in several stage plays in the Metro Atlanta area. She recently completed her third run in The Company You Keep with WOW Onstage Productions, as well as her second run in the Tragicomedy Stage Play, Damnation with Nspired Images, Inc. She was also recently cast in the All Star Production of Mama’s Prayer with Only Begotten Son Productions, which led her to Louisville, KY, where cast mates included Season 2 Sunday Best Winner Amber Bullock, Gary “Lil G” Jenkins from the Legendary R&B Group Silk, Willie Taylor of Diddy’s Making the Band and Day 26, Grammy Nominated Singer Calvin Richardson, Claudia Jordan of Atlanta Housewives fame, and Grammy Nominated Rapper Thrill Da Playa of the hit group 69 Boyz. This production also hit the stage in Atlanta in April 2018 where additional cast mates included Actor and Author Darrin Henson, Radio Personality Darlene McCoy and Gospel Recording Artist Wess Morgan.  Angel considers her greatest theater accomplishment to date to be her portrayal as Bertha in August Wilson’s Joe Turner’s Come and Gone in May 2018.

She portrayed slain call girl Demesha Hunt in the emotionally charged documentary Black Girls Die Too. This project has garnered national attention and has several local and national lawmakers, including Georgia House Representative Dee Dawkins-Haigler, on board to make policy changes regarding online escort services. More recently, Angel has taken interest in the production side of film and has been connected to several independent films as Production Coordinator. She has been fortunate to work with some of Atlanta’s most talented Independent Film Directors and looks forward to making a transition to network film and television, both behind the camera as well as in front of the camera, as acting will always be her first love.

Angel’s upcoming projects include: a film called “Battered Justice”, an encore theater production of Joe Turner’s Come and Gone in Houston, TX, and the stage plays Somewhere in Summerville and Super Loser, which will both be featured in Atlanta Black Theatre Festival in October. She will also continue production coordination for an auteurs series Sour Milk, as well as the feature film Through Elaina’s Eyes. Her current trainings include B Leave It Acting Studios (Actor and Coach Bruce Blackshear) and The Working Actor and Master Class with Actor’s Breakthrough (Actor and Coach Greg Alan Williams). Angel looks forward to furthering her growth and development as an actor/artist. She is also a vocalist and has recorded with veteran Gospel Artists such as Troy Sneed and Henrietta Telfair, as well as Independent Artist Mo Bigga. She has performed at various music showcases/venues in the Metro Atlanta. As a part of the Atlanta Theatre Collective, Angel seeks to help create a one-stop shop for filmmakers to be able to connect and collaborate within the industry.
