Ivory Shields

Ivory Shields’ journey has been one of discovery. Over time, she became an artist whose body of work includes acting, modeling, writing, producing, hosting, and casting. A multitude of people told her for years that she needed to be on television, but it wasn’t until a patient’s daughter put Ivory in front of the camera for a photo shoot that the magic began. Ivory had modeled since high school, and has even graced the runway for David Tuttera Bridal Expo Runway show. The photos from that initial shoot however, were given to a talent agency, which began submitting Ivory for roles. After her first speaking role in an industrial for Norfolk Southern Railroad, Ivory continued taking classes with Julie Still, whose agent showcase resulted in Atlanta Models and Talent signing her. Ivory has since studied with some of the most influential teachers in the industry, including improv class at the famous Groundlings Improv Theatre in Los Angeles.

Ever since then, Ivory has appeared in co-star roles on several network television shows including Love Is, The Quad, and If Loving You is Wrong. She’s landed lead roles in multiple short films, two of which she co-wrote. Ms. Shields can be seen in numerous national and local commercials including but not limited to GoldBond, Rooms To Go, and Worker’s Credit Union. She is thrilled about her most recent creative endeavor as host and co-producer, alongside Anthony Page and Kiara Banks, and a cast of other talented individuals, for Black On Purpose TV. BOPTV is the only African American owned network on a streaming platform and Ivory will serve as lead anchor and co-producer for the network’s news and entertainment segment.

Ivory is humbled to be recently named one of the executive producers of Sour Milk Productions. She will collaborate alongside the founder, Jason Louder and a host of other forward thinking auteurs to create relevant and thought provoking content for the highly anticipated Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome movie anthology. In addition, she is the moderator for the Sour Milk Roundtable Discussions, that are designed to give viewers and fans a personal behind the scenes experience with the content creators. Her debut as a film producer and casting associate began last year when she had the opportunity to work alongside Mr. Akil DuPont, to create a web series entitled Po Psi Broke that premiered July 21 at The Plaza Theatre in Atlanta.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Speech Communications from Georgia State University and a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from The University of Alabama at Birmingham, Ivory has worked in the education and occupational therapy fields for years. Yet her greatest accomplishment so far has been having the courage to walk away from a full time job that didn’t serve her, in order to pursue her passion. Her passion has transformed into facilitating healing for others, and she plans to use her voice and her platform to do so. Ivory’s motto is...”we are here to feel good and better. Our only job is to FEEL better. The spirit wants what it wants, so you might as well do what feeds your soul”. Later this year, stay on the lookout for Ivory’s YouTube channel, Shining on Purpose with Ivory Shields, and be inspired to feel better and feed your soul.
